Sean Newman's Diary
Well, this is has been one hell of a hectic week. First, I'm assured to be a first day pick and then I fall to the 5th round. Not only do I fall to the 5th round, but I get drafted by one of my brother's biggest rivals. This year was going to be hectice. I wonder whats gonna happen if we matchup against eachother... Enough, I wanted my shot to get out of the shadow of Terence and heres my chance. I've got to work hard and consistent so I can show everyone that I'm not just Terence's little brother...I'm Sean Newman.

Training Camp Training Camp is everything my brother told me it would be. A living hell. First year players are treated pretty much like garbage at first, but its part of the league and has been forever. I started to get to know alot of the guys. Brian Dawkins has been a real good mentor to me. He plays free safety, so he's seen a good deal of great wide receivers and he gave me pointers on what they do, that I can do to improve my overall game. My brother told me that we need to talk every week about eachothers performance and that when one of us has the bye week, that person should really try and catch the others game. I agreed and we both stayed in contact throughout training camp. I must admit, I'm pretty excited to face my brother, especially as fierce rivals. I've got the day marked on every calender in my house and I hope I'm ready to go!

Post Preseason/Prior to Week 1 Game
I can't believe this. I'm in the NFL and I'm making some plays. I actually lead the team in receiving yards this Preseason. It still hasn't sunk in that I'm apart of the NFL family. Wow. What a feeling. Anyways, I'm only 3 days away from my Regular Season debut. Alot of people say Houston is a weak team, but I know they can be dangerous, so I'm definently increasing my readiness. I actually got a call from Terence the other day about my Preseason performance. He told me I was coming along quite well and he was proud and honored to be my brother. That really meant alot to me, but I'm still not satisfied. Coach Reid told me I was the #1 receiver and I'm going to prove to everyone that I'm just that, the #1 receiver!
